about us
What We Do
Ghana Union Manchester is a Ghana-community organisation in Greater Manchester that brings together Ghanaians and friends of Ghana to promote welfare, culture, unity, and development. We serve as a home away from home, helping our members stay connected to their roots while supporting their wellbeing in the UK.
As part of the wider Ghana Union network, we are committed to solidarity, cultural pride, and community empowerment. We celebrate Ghanaian heritage through events, education, and cultural activities, while offering guidance and support to those facing challenges such as settling in, finding resources, or adapting to life in Manchester.
Ghana Union Manchester is more than an association — we are a family. Whether you are a new arrival, student, professional, or long-term resident, our doors are open to all who believe in unity and the Ghanaian spirit.
Our Values
At the heart of our mission lie the principles that define who we are: Leadership, Teamwork, and Community Relations. These values guide our purpose and shape the way we serve, grow, and connect with others.
Leadership
The Union believes that at the heart of good leadership is a mindset of servanthood to those it serves. A leadership that promotes inclusiveness, openness, transparency, and accountability while nurturing the next generation of leaders.
Teamwork
The Union values the ability to celebrate each other's strengths and contributions. We embrace constructive criticism and work collectively to find solutions that benefit the entire organisation.
Community Relations
The Union emphasises relationships built on love, respect, and care. We work harmoniously with the wider community and external agencies to ensure that support is tailored to the needs of those we serve, always seeking better ways to uplift our community.
Aims and Objectives
Our aims and objectives outline the guiding purpose of the Union and define how we strive to serve our members and community.
- To promote the cultural and social aspirations of its members while fostering friendships and networking among the community at large.
